Fred Heisel Jr. Grant-In-Aid Award

Purpose
The
purpose of the
Fred Heisel Jr. Grant is to provide
financial assistance to minority male enrolled in
institutions of
higher learning. Unlike other financial aid programs, the Fred
Heisel Jr. Grant is an
award to help
defray the cost of achieving a secondary education or vocation.
Qualifications
To
qualify for the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant an application must be
submitted and the applicant
must meet the
following guidelines:
•
High School Graduate
• Minority
Male
• Enrolled
(has been accepted) in an institution of higher learning.
• Achieved
a cumulative GPA of
2.8
out of
4.0
or higher.
• High
School transcript validated by school official.
• Letter
of acceptance from a university or vocational school.
Awards
Recipients of
the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant will be determined by the scholarship
committee of
Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Inc. This decision will be based upon meeting all
application qualifications,
a one-page essay
on “Why Attending College is Important”, and an in-depth interview.
The interview will
explore four key
factor areas that include Achievement, Leadership, Scholarship and
Community
Service.
Application Deadline
All
applications must be completed
in full by April 30, 2008 and returned as indicated on the
cover
letter.
